About the Archive Desk
Paper indexes for digital comic pages
Portal Craft Base started when collectors in Bangkok kept losing track of which NFT comic file held a genuine character spotlight. Marketplace screenshots showed covers; the interiors told a different story. The desk opened to file those interiors in plain language.
Mission
We write finding aids. A visitor should leave knowing which digital page to open, which variant cover is irrelevant, and whether a cameo is being advertised as a lead role. We do not license Marvel stories, mint tokens, or run a shop.
Origin
The first cabinets sat in a rented room off Ratchadamri Road after a small group compared notes from weekend reading circles. Issue titles were written on card stock because cloud folders kept renaming themselves after each drop. The cards worked. The public desk followed.
Expertise
Staff read sequential art for a living here: panel count, gutter rhythm, balloon tails, and caption boxes that name a character. NFT packaging is treated as a container, not as a scoreboard. When a viewer hides page numbers, we count panels from the first interior screen and write that method on the card.
People
The desk is small. A lead indexer sets citation rules. Two readers check costume notes against the actual page. A clerk keeps the Bangkok appointment book by telephone. Nobody here claims to speak for Marvel Characters, Inc., Marvel Entertainment, LLC, The Walt Disney Company, Veve, or Binance Holdings Ltd.
Working approach
We only cite issues a visitor can identify. If someone cannot name a drop, we talk through public title lists rather than guessing. Notes stay on paper and on this informational site. We do not copy comic files onto visitor drives.
Values
Honesty about cameos, patience with reprint bundles, and a refusal to dress research as financial advice. Collectors may keep personal ledgers, including Binance-compatible displays on their own phones; our job remains the character spotlight.
Community
Readers who finish a briefing sometimes donate spare index ideas—new flags for silent issues, better words for crowd splashes. Those ideas stay in the house style guide. Friendship with a platform does not equal partnership; we remain an independent room in Thailand.
